Although the Prestongrange Ceiling has been around for centuries, very little documentation has been made of its existence.

One screen shows high definition footage of the ceiling in Merchiston Tower. The other screen showcases more than 70 additional fragments from the ceiling that are not part of the current installation, but are held in Edinburgh Napier University's heritage collection. These panels have been digitally restored based on a architectural sketch made when the ceiling was rediscovered in the 1960s.

One screen brings you closer to the ceiling as it stands today, the other reveals what’s been left behind. Together, they help piece together a fuller picture of the past.
